I want to start out by saying that I loved King Hall and King Cave. These are two of my all time favorite books; I loved the setting and the characters, basically everything was perfect. Lilly and Ezra’s relationship was amazing, with all of their passion, and how it needed to be kept a secret for so long. And there are so few books where you fall in love with the secondary characters just as much as the main characters, but in this series, I felt like I really got to know all the characters, and loved hearing about them just as much as Ezra and Lilly.

But with all of that said this book didn’t do the series justice. This book went the way of many book endings before it, not well. It must be really hard to write a great ending to a series since so few authors can do it. And it wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t what I expected, and it wasn’t up to par with the 2 other books in the series. I felt as though the author was simply tired of writing about these characters and just wanted this book to be done with.

The beginning started off really well, Lilly’s in Australia with no memory of Ezra or any of her friends, and is pregnant with a baby that she has no memory of conceiving. The baby comes fairly quickly into the story, which was nice, and it quickly becomes apparent its father is a vampire. The author did a really great job of capturing Lilly’s frustration, anger (mainly at Antonio), and strength throughout the story. But when she leaves Australia that’s when the book takes a turn for the worse.

In the previous books the author incorporated all of the characters so seamlessly into the story, I honestly don’t know how she did it. But in this one all of the characters that I loved so much, and played such big roles in the last books were hardly even featured in this one, and if they were they barley got a line.

The whole book was basically Lilly and Ezra beating each other up, yelling at each other, or sleeping together with no real rhyme or reason. Their relationship went from ‘I don’t know you so that means I must kill you’, to ‘oh we’re married so lets get it on’ in about a second. It didn’t seem realistic. And I’m not even going to get into the Antonio/Elder Zeller plot line that seemed completely out of left field and unnecessary.

It just felt as though the author had a lot going on and didn’t have time to fully dedicate herself to this book. It seemed a lot shorter than the previous books, and in the end nothing seemed resolved.

Review Escaping Destiny, Amelia Hutchins

I thought things couldn’t get worse. I was wrong.

After that giant cliffhanger Hutchins had hanging over us all of our prayers were answered and our questions too.

I think this was the best book in the series yet. We finally know who Ryder truly is, how Sin really feels about him. There are no more unanswered questions, no more vague words, I finally felt fulfilled after so long of reading and wishing the characters would just straighten out and finally be honest with each other.

The book started off exactly where the last one ended Sin’s family has just given her to the Horde King, Ryder hasn’t come to rescue her and she’s just gotten her first look at the scarily handsome beast. He takes her to the Horde Kingdom and

The horde king is really Ryder.

Sin was obviously upset for a while, but got over it pretty quickly. Everything seemed pretty perfect. Her prince had come for her after all, she was surrounded by her friends, and whoops she’s pregnant too.

This book should have been named Revelations instead of Escaping Destiny, because that’s all it was about, discovering the truth.

Of course there was some drama in the book- it couldn’t have been the Fae Chronicles without it. The biggest drama being Ryder’s engagement to a different woman…oh no he didn’t! And some mean girls that tried to break Ryder and Sin’s relationship. But overall the book was just perfect. Exactly what I had hoped it would be!

My all time favorite book is the ‘fall in love with your best friend’ book. When the best friend is a guy. Duh.

This is what Switched is about, well kind of.

Kayla has a crush on Talon.

Wes has a crush on Reagan.

The only problem is that Talon and Reagan are together. Oh and their in love with their best friends boyfriend/girlfriend. Yea it’s a mess.

So Kayla and Wes decide to break up their best friends relationship so that they can be with the people they want. But while they scheme and plot they begin to realize that maybe the person they were really suppose to be with was in front of them the entire time.

I loved Kayla and Wes’s relationship, it was slow and dramatic and they didn’t see it coming. They were so funny together, being able to completely speak their minds because they were so comfortable with each other.

While I loved their relationship I hated that it took them so long to realize that they were in love with the wrong person. I couldn’t understand why they liked Talon and Reagan in the first place; I also didn’t understand why they were best friends with them. This was definitely not a book about good friendship. But the drama was good.
